रोका बहुत मचलने को, थामा बहुत बहकने को,
बोला तू ही अनजान है ऐ नदाने शख्स,
धड़कना काम है इसका, जो हर राज़ का जवाब और उस जवाब का सवाल है
फिर भी वक़्त का नहीं, दिल का ही हाल बेहाल है।

एक दिन खुदा से मुलाक़ात हो गयी,
दिल के बारे में थोड़ी ऐसे ही बात हो गयी,
बोला ख्वाइशे काम नहीं इसकी ऐ बन्दे,
पूरी तू ही तो करता है, फिर क्यों तुझे मलाल है,
वक़्त का नहीं, दिल का ही हाल बेहाल है।

चाहत इसकी बढ़ती जाये, तेरे रोके रुक न पाए,
घर मंदिर भी छोटा पड़ता, जब यह सबको अपनाता जाये,
आज में जिले ज़िन्दगी, खोल कर बाहें मेरे दोस्त,
कल के सपनो का परसो तक अंतकाल है,
रह जाएगी ज़िंदा यादे तेरी दिलो में सबके,
यही इस आशियाने का कमाल है,
समझ सके तो समझ ले प्यारे,
मष्तिके रोक रहा है तुझे,
वरना दिल का नहीं हाल बेहाल है।
